Kees Moerbeek

studied graphic design at the art school in Arnhem, the Netherlands. As a full-time paper engineer and illustrator, he worked in the United States and in the Netherlands. Over a period of 38 years, Kees designed more than one hundred pop up books and is internationally well known by pop-up book collectors.

The Two Lions

holding the coat of arms function as a connecting hinge for the two separate base plates. From the place where the crown belongs, an impressive tree arise, with roots, branches and countless shiny silver leaves. The tree trunk, branches and its roots represent the cultural values of all Dutch people and the silver leaves symbolize the true assets of the Dutch people.
